Flower Mound, TX MacBook Trackpad Repair Service

One of the major reasons to buy Apple products is that they work smoothly and don’t usually have problems. But when you do have problems, it’s very frustrating. Since almost all the parts in any device can fail, Trackpad in MacBooks are no different from others.

Trackpad can cause serious problem if you need to meet a deadline. They can really cause a lot of trouble. They can also give you the problems from time to time. And it’s usually because of the contamination. Greasy fingerprints or other dirty debris can sometimes prevent it from working properly.  The easiest way for you to work this through is to get another mouse connected to check it out. That’s still not the best solution but you can definitely get your things finished until you can get it checked and fixed. Also, they can stop working because you do not have the updated version of your macOS. You should get it updated and try to see if that works. Un-updated OS can also lead to various problems not only keyboard, mouse or trackpad. So, you need to update the OS as they are available.

If you're having any other issues with your MacBook, don't hesitate to bring it in for a diagnostics test. We offer a wide range of services to keep your Apple products working like new. Come see us today and let us help you get the most out of your devices!

TECH TIPS ON MACBOOK TRACKPAD REPAIR

If you are having issues with your Trackpad, any physical repairs by yourself is not recommended. However, you can follow some troubleshooting steps to see if that fixes the issue.

The first thing is to check if the peripherals you connected are causing the problems. Disconnect if you have connected an external keyboard or a mouse and try connecting it again. You do know that sometimes that is all it takes to get them working. The next step then would be to check for the system updates. If it is available, you definitely need to work on it and get it updated.  Most of the times deleting the trackpad property list files also works. First open finder, then Go -> Go to folder sub menu. The shortcut key to got to the finder is Command + Shift + G.

In the dialog that pops up, type the “/Library/Preferences/” path, then click Go. In the Finder window that displays, look for the following files:

com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist

com.apple.preference.trackpad.plist

If either are present, you can delete them. Once you’re done, restart your MacBook and check for any further trackpad issues. If there are, you need to carry out some further diagnosis.
